Recently, we participated in a resource event for Cimpl’s Meat Plant, where nearly 300 employees—many of whom are immigrants and Spanish-speaking—lost their jobs. At this event, we provided crucial information about health care options, ensuring they had the resources they needed during this transition. Recognizing that health care may not be their immediate priority amid job loss, we are also hosting a follow-up event to continue supporting them when they’re ready.
In addition to this event, we’ve been actively engaging with the community through outreach events at local libraries, school district events, and conferences throughout the state. These efforts allow us to reach diverse populations and ensure more people know about their health care options. While language barriers can sometimes present challenges, we are committed to overcoming them by utilizing interpreter services and other resources to effectively communicate with those we serve.
Our outreach work has also given us the opportunity to reconnect with individuals we’ve previously assisted, hearing powerful success stories from those who have gained coverage and can now access the care they once went without. These moments reinforce the importance of our work and the impact it has on real lives.
As the job market shifts, we remain committed to ensuring those affected by job loss know they have options. Our marketing team has been instrumental in raising awareness, especially for those facing the daunting reality of losing both employment and health insurance. We know how vital it is for individuals managing chronic conditions or ongoing treatments to have uninterrupted access to care, and we’re grateful to be a trusted resource in their journey.
